Cars in Germany's Town Found Marked with Swastikas in Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Officers reported they were notified by a resident who discovered a car in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.

Officers report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.

The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.

Officers then located multiple other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police state preliminary tests indicate the liquid was most likely human blood.

"Currently there is no clue as to its source; investigators are not yet informed of any injuries in connection with the incident," they commented.

Local authorities stated they were working "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the community for details.

A high-ranking official said the incident made him speechless and needed to be addressed quickly.

"This event hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on online, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a shooter targeting individuals of migrant background in 2020.
